Refractories requirements of Induction style melting furnace
As the main equipment to melt a varieties of aluminum and aluminum alloys, energy saving technology issues of induction melting furnace are increasingly by practitioners. With the increasing of furnaces’ power and the quality improvement of melting aluminum, their requirements are more concerned with the refractory material.
Induction melting furnace used refractory material should have excellent chemical stability, anti-erosion resistance ability, thermal shock resistance ability and crack growth ability. So induction melting furnace has a high requirement on refractory material, the following information is the recommended refractory materials towards the main part induction style melting furnace.
Furnace lid used refractory material
Furnace lid plays a main effort on reducing the heat loss of furnace, and to prevent splashing liquid metal during melting process. It requires the furnace lid used material should have excellent thermal insulation ability, light weight performance and excellent corrosion resistance ability. Now mostly used light weight, low thermal conductivity material is CCEWOOL ceramic fiber board as the liner, since the operating temperature is usually lower than 800 ℃, thus mostly used heat-resistant rivet and heat-resistant steel mesh steel to fix ceramic fiber board on the liner. This kind of furnace lid not only have excellent thermal insulation ability but also lightweight, thus it’s very convenient to close and open.
Furnace hearth used refractory material
Should use low porosity, high density CCEWOOL alumina brick masonry. Bricklaying process should pay more attention to reduce the width of the bricks, and use mud hit full.
Furnace throat and melting ditch used refractory material
Throat and melt channel with complex structure, should not use brick building, mainly use CCEWOOL unshaped refractory material.
Aluminum casting used refractory materials
After smelting, the aluminum will melt into aluminum liquid, then it is made to a variety of products by mold, whether liquid aluminum spoon or riser tubes are both required to use CCEWOOL ceramic fiber paper for insulation protection, the molds can also be protected by CCEWOOL ceramic fiber paper
