Selection of mullite insulation brick for cast steel large riser
At present, insulation riser has been widely used in cast steel technology. But when insulation riser is large and exceed the size of finished riser, or the riser is not of regular size and its application is few, we will not be able to use insulation riser. After testing,CCEWOOL mullite insulation brick used as cast steel large riser can also have the effect of thermal insulation, and improve production rate and reduce consumption of molten steel.
Selection of mullite insulation brick.
There are many kinds of CCEWOOL mullite insulation brick. Their performance differs greatly.When mullite insulation brick being used to make riser, besides low thermal conductivity and low thermal capacity it should meet following requirement.
1) Refractoriness should be suitable for cast steel.
2) Enough mechanical strength and easy moulding.
3) When casting, it should be stable, no gas,no sand and easy to clean.
The using characteristics of mullite insulation brick riser
1) It can be used for risers of various specifications and shapes, the bigger the riser the better its performance will be.
2) Easy for application, highly optimized for general use, especially suitable for single and small batch production.
3) Doesn’t limited by dry or wet, not affected by drying temperature.
4) When casting,there is no gas or harm. Molten steel pack stable.
5) The surface of riser is smooth, easy for cleaning.
6) Convenient for transportation and storage, little loss.
7) There will be a little increase of moulding work, but not easy to damage, low requirement for compaction skills.
Use mullite insulation bricks as cast steel large riser is just preliminary work. The selection of riser specifications is conservative. The practical results show that as long as the selection of mullite insulation brick is right, to some extent it can replace riser insulation sleeve and achieve objective economic results.
